SOCCER PLAYERS WITH LONG HAIR
Football is undeniably the national fever and the players are superstars both on and off the pitch. With a large number of sports fans, a practitioner’s style usually attracts attention – for better or for worse. Extravagant and outlandish haircuts have become the butt of jokes or the most copied in men’s beauty salons. Be it the acronym for Cristiano Ronaldo or the faded Mohawk of Neymar Jr. UOL remembers some patterns that have already been marked.
UNFORGETTABLE PLAYER HAIRSTYLES
HENRIK LARSSON
Back in the 90s, the former Swede wore a head of hair that reggae fans could envy: the athlete’s blond dreadlocks were topped with a white bandage so that they did not fall on his face during matches. After all, looks can’t get in the way of work.
YORDAN LETCHKOV
In the 1990s, the Soccer players with long hair glaring athlete had a respectable bald head, but part of the athlete’s forehead was filled with a “strand” of hair, marking the appearance. Of course, even this piece of wiring ended up in the bathroom drain over the years.
ARTURO VIDAL
The Chilean, like other Latin American players, is a big fan of shaved hair. The Mohawk-style front stays firm and solid, but the athlete makes various razor-edge designs from time to time.
CARLOS VALDERRAMA
In the late 80s, the Colombian liked to keep his long curly hair in good condition and coppery. “Manny” became his trademark.
DAVID BECKHAM
The Briton has already used several hairstyles that have become popular in men’s beauty salons or have become the butt of jokes. However, the Mohawk has been one of the most popular hairstyles for the player since the early 2000s.
CRISTIANO RONALDO
The Portuguese does not hide from anyone that he is very vain, which some longtime fans joke about. In addition to always having good eyebrows, the player usually wears impeccable hairstyles, including a shaved topknot that has become a rage among the boys.
DAVID LOUIS
A sort of follower of Valderrama, the Brazilian who became the favorite of the public at the 2014 World Cup is also highly respected. However, well-armed pigtails have become a hit in the children’s wing of football fans.
DIEGO MARADONA
The Argentine mullet was popularized among football players in the 70s and 80s, however, even as the years passed, he did not abandon the long strands at the back of his head, which became his hallmark.
ABEL XAVIER
The Portuguese is known for his exotic hairstyles, always made from heavily bleached hair. Contrasting braids and Mohawks are sports options.
NEYMAR JR.
The Brazilian has become a style icon thanks to her intricate hairstyle. A longer Mohawk, with bangs falling over the face, and bleached strands are already shining on the player’s head. Children and teenagers often imitate this style, but some adults turn up their noses.
RONALDINHO GAUCHO
During football matches, the Brazilian curls his hair into a half-hair, for which he received the nickname Predator – a reference to the bloodthirsty alien with the same name. A small bow tie held the front locks in place.
TARIBO WEST
There’s nothing more popular than mixed braids, but the former Nigerian player went a step further with the Afro style, choosing green strands and creating quirky hairstyles out of them.
MAROUANE FELLAINI
The Belgian athlete also loves to keep her curly locks well-armed and attention-grabbing. In a more complex story than David Luis and Carlos Valderrama, the player changes the length of their hair.
