When Lizzo teamed up with Kate Hudson’s sports brand Fabletics to launch Yetty, a shapewear brand for all body types, we knew she would bring bold designs to market, but wait until you see her new collection for Valentine’s Day.
The star dropped a sparkly burgundy lingerie set ahead of Valentine’s Day, showing it off on Instagram. “Valentine’s day…valentine’s night…new ‘Spotlights’ sparkle in sexy burgundy dress,” she wrote, donning a bodysuit, bra and panties.
Lizzo’s shimmering ‘Spotlight’ collection has been reinvented in deep red for Valentine’s Day. The pieces are also available in nightwear pink and pajamas are among the new arrivals.
As always, Yitty caters to all body types.
“I’ve spent my whole life trying to change my appearance or reshape my body,” Lizzo told Forbes in 2022, before Yitty was launched. “Like I had to inflict some kind of pain on her to fit into some archetype or standard of beauty. I’ve been wearing underwear (corsets and tight panties) for a long time, since I was in fifth or sixth grade. It was very painful and I really felt like I shouldn’t be on As such. We shouldn’t be ashamed of our bodies and we shouldn’t use these paraphernalia to make ourselves feel beautiful.”
“I was very involved in designing all the looks,” she added. “I look at each fabric, choose each color, and try each piece on countless times during the design and fitting process.”
As for the name, it has a special meaning for the singer. “Yitty is a nickname my aunt gave me when I was young,” the “Juice” hitmaker explained. “She was a woman with a great body and one of the nicest people around, with a beautiful, sassy energy. She wanted that energy in this brand.”
