Amadeus to deliver over 100 self-service baggage claim machines at Paris airport

Amadeus has announced that it will deliver more than 100 self-service baggage units at Paris Airport, bound for Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports, which will allow passengers using them to check in their bags in 30 seconds, a “more smooth” travel experience.

Like many other airports around the world, Paris Airports has experienced a strong recovery in demand for air travel. To accommodate you, the self-service options available to travelers will be greatly expanded at Paris’ two main airports.

The devices, part of a new agreement between Paris Aéroport and Amadeus, will help improve the passenger experience and save time.

Thus, in the coming months, new Auto Bag Drop (ABD) machines from ICM Airport Technics, an Amadeus company, will be installed on the patios of the two Parisian airports. These machines were added to the 360 already in operation.

This means passengers can opt for self-service bag drop at more than half of Paris airport check-in points. In this way, queues are reduced and the overall performance of airports is improved.

In fact, bag drop-off at self-service machines takes an average of just 37 seconds, which increases the airport’s passenger handling capacity and provides a smoother experience and greater comfort for passengers.

Smart Solutions

In this regard, Groupe ADP Deputy General Manager Edward Arkwright said: “Our strategy as an airport operator is to develop smart airport solutions that make our customer airlines’ jobs easier and improve the terminal experience, providing passengers with an experience quieter and faster trip.”

Amadeus’ role is to increase the number of passengers checking their bags at Paris Charles de Gaulle and Paris Orly airports.
